Floor to ceiling bookcases line the Inside Books Project Library

Each year, Inside Books Project sends more than 30,000 free books to people in Texas prisons. We also publish resource guides, how-to guides, and the IBP Newsletter.

From its inception, Inside Books has always been a community-focused and volunteer-run organization.

1998: Inside Books Project was founded
2012: Obtained 501(c)(3) nonprofit status
2019: Moved into Vesper
2020: Provided resources and information regarding vaccines and stimulus checks to those incarcerated during the COVID-19 pandemic
2023: Celebrated our 25th anniversary
